I am Sabina Bashuk, a certified practical psychologist and Gestalt therapist in training.
At 15, I wore T-shirts with death metal bands, black lips, translated song lyrics from English with a dictionary, and dreamed of leaving Mariupol to study psychology in Kharkiv.
I was rejected from psychology because "where will you find those clients, a stable office job is better, go to a translator."
At 25, I already worked as an oral and written translator, an American technical support agent and an SEO specialist - all this without pauses to "feel myself" and ended up in a psychologist with emotional burnout and reluctance to get up in the morning.
Having been burned by a not very professional (as I later found out) psychotherapist, after conversations with whom I only got worse, I continued to seek help and found myself with a Gestalt therapist.
My world was divided into "before" and "after", because it turned out that quality psychotherapy is a balance between the frustration of old patterns that interfere with living and the support of new, more productive ones.
And the path of deep changes began - both in the perception of the world and oneself, and in the quality of life 🙂
Today, I am 32 years old and I have 6 years of personal therapy behind me (4 of them in the Gestalt approach), a master's degree in "Practical Psychology, Psychotherapy" and I am continuing my studies in the Gestalt approach.
As a hypersensitive introvert-dreamer, I know a lot about how to live in a family with post-Soviet "shoulds", "you're a girl", "you take everything too close to heart", not trusting yourself, fearing, being ashamed, burning out and losing the meaning of life .
But I also know the beauty of small things, music, art and people's inner worlds, and this inspires me to live and help others through my painful but so important experience.
My specialization is working with children's injuries, which in an adult affect all spheres of life - personal, professional, social.
